Before we commence to advertise and market the property to potential buyers we recommend you follow some of the suggestions below in preparation for this vital step of introducing potential buyers to you home.

Outside the Property

Make sure that all external aspects of your property look enticing to a prospective buyer. A well-presented home will appeal to more buyers, sell faster and often will attract a higher price.

  • Maximise street appeal make the entrance to your property clean and inviting.
  • Make sure that the house number is visible.
  • Make sure that all lawns have been cut and are free of weeds.
  • Add mulch or new plants to garden beds.
  • Prune or cut down overgrown trees and plants.
  • Repair, paint or replace the front door.
  • Clean external walls and gutters.

  • Remove peeling paint from window panes and re-paint.

  • Remove any items that you do not need. De-clutter, de-clutter, de-clutter! Make your rooms look spacious.
  • Repair any cracks, holes to wall and any leaking taps in the property.
  • Replace any globes that are not working.
  • Vacuum the carpets, mop the floors, dust light fittings and furniture, wash and wipe down walls and bench tops.
  • Ensure that your property is tidy and that items such as toys and other belongings are not left in hallways. Make it easy for people to walk through your property.
  • Make sure your best clean towels are on display in the bathrooms.
  • Ensure that all items in wardrobes, linen and other cupboards are packed away neatly.

  • Take out all rubbish throughout the property.
